GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• Under general direction, develops, codes, tests and debugs new complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity.

• Has excellent understanding of business application and is able to align technical specifications with business requirements.

• Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them.

• Able to produce software technical documentation.

• Demonstrates broad knowledge of technical solutions.

• Designs and codes complex applications using advanced technology;

• Able and willing to work in a development environment mixed with several technologies and languages.

• Able to understand time constraints and prioritize development tasks in order to accomplish the objectives in the required timeframe.

• Able to identify potential risks or delays arising from technical and development tasks, and report them in a timely manner.

• Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

• Demonstrates software.

• May create optimization programs to resolve problems;

• May design and build prototype applications.

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree or equivalent

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years related experience; Good Communication skills, written and verbal; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• 5+ years of experience developing software in technical positions as part of development teams with.NET technologies, and with different architectures; including at least 2 years of experience developing and designing web-applications.

• Has good knowledge about web services / SOA applications and related technologies and standards.

• Has experience developing database applications and issuing SQL statements.

• Application Architecture:

-Identifies common business components and services that can be leveraged by multiple applications.

-Has experience on designing the architecture of web-applications, including front-end and back-end, and at least some experience with web-services / SOA architectures.

Software Design:

-Understands standard software modeling techniques used to describe system designs;

-designs components of larger software systems;

-Has strong knowledge of OO design practices.

-utilizes existing system components that can be leveraged by multiple applications;

-understands capabilities of environment

Software Programming:

-Understands concepts of source code control and how to use tools;

-translates the design specification into physical code;

-creates and assembles code modules from existing code repositories;

-Uses common development tools for required language, platform, database, middleware and environment.

• Has strong knowledge of the .NET.

• Has experience or is able to learn and work with Java language, eventually (although most development tasks are in .NET)

• Engineering Specifications: Understands, interprets and translates engineering requirements into the necessary designs and documentation.

• Able to produce effort estimates on technical and development tasks, such as estimates for technical design, unit test development, technical documentation and coding.

• Software Process Knowledge: Familiar with common software development processes and practices, also knows the interaction between development and QA teams.

• Systems Analysis: Determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes, knowledge of products and system architecture.
